Aug. '01-Dec. '01: Hamilton Environmental, Operations Manager.
Key responsibilities included:
- Operational responsibility for Clinical Waste Treatment and Incinerator Plant and Animal Carcass Incinerator. Site handled Special Clinical Waste.
- Directly accountable to Company Director for all site revenue and expenditure.
- Liasing with regulators and environmental agencies to ensure the highest standards are met and maintained.
March '96 - Auh. '01: Barr Environmental, General Manager.
Key responsibilities included:
- Operational management of two-engineered landfill sites handling in excess of 1/2million tonnes of waste per annum.
- Design and operation of leachate treatment plant.
- Responsible for all engineering work with an annual budget of over £3million
- Liasing with regulators and environmental agencies to ensure the highest standards are met and maintained.
- Strategic development and implementation of company business plan to ensure company's continued growth and expansion. This includes assessing and implementing all new environmental legislation.
- Developed training programme for senior site staff, based around SVQ's.
Sept '91 - March '96: Shanks & McEwan (Northern) Ltd, Environmental Manager
Key responsibilities included:
- Compliance Audits on SME (N) landfill sites (3) and Transfer Stations (12) to check and assist in providing a management system to ensure compliance with relevant legislation.
- Designed and operated of leachate treatment plant.
- Environmental monitoring at SME (N) sites.
- Reporting Compliance Audits and Environmental Monitoring to SME (N) and Regulatory Authorities.
