The CIWM Waste Awareness Certificate
Too good to be true?!
The Chartered Institution of Waste Management (CIWM) has launched a new training initiative designed to make employees 'aware of waste'.
By attending this short five-hour training course employess will be able to:
- Understand what is waste.
- Reduce, re-use, and recycle waste.
- Know about disposal routes for remaining waste.
- Deal with waste safely.
- Know the legal responsibilities for waste.
- Identify the sources of help for those difficult waste questions.
The course is supported by DEFRA, DTI, the Environment Agencies in England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland and WRAP.
Candidates receive a certificate from the CIWM and a Reference Book to ensure they keep 'thinking about waste' thus saving money and helping to save the environment by managing waste better.
